I do feel like it's an obligation to shoot moments like these.  They were there, we were there, sitting next to each other, listening to these great bands from all over the world, not minding the heat, and too much sweating.  I did feel like a melting candle being blown away by these fantastic music.  But we stayed.  I stayed.  I let myself be toasted, and for the nth time, I should have thought of protecting my skin at least.

I took this during the early hours of the festival.  Some people caught me shooting them, some hid their faces, but that girl in front made this shot really special.

I was trying to get a shot of the band thru the screen because my camera couldn't reach them from the stage and you know, people's hands and heads were all over the place, but then this guy stood in front of me (I was sitting on the ground) and gave me that pose.  But honestly, this shot could have been perfect if that girl didn't appear in the scene.

I named this one below "mtv corner".  I noticed them doing their thing and immediately I pointed my camera to them.  The guy dj noticed and he looked away.  I never got a chance to shoot their faces though, but this scene, this shot right here is worth every stolen shots I did.  "Whatever they saw in there".

This is the first time I stayed under the sun for a couple of hours without being in the water, but you know what, I might do this again next year.  Laneway Festival is like the best gig I've been to since I started going to gigs.. and yeah, I'll use protection next time.. there's probably a next time.  :>
