catfish in empty aquarium

catfish in empty aquarium

There's supposed to be an image of a cat right here, sleeping inside an aquarium.. an empty aquarium, but I can't figure out how to get it from this stupid tablet's folder.  I was thinking of a nice intro but my frustration killed it.. not that I have thought of a nice intro, but it's a good excuse, right? right.

So I visited my family in their new house which is now farther from the city.. quite far, actually.  But it doesn't matter, I don't live with them anyway.  And maybe that's what my parents need; a place that is far from any pollution and stress.

It's only been three days since they moved when I visited that some stuff were still unpacked (I think they're the same unpacked boxes and things when we last moved to our last apartment).  One of those unattended thing is our aquarium which stands at the stairs.. next to the window.  It's a perfect spot, but it ate a lot of space.

the new girls in my life

They were seen lurking outside our house the other night, making a bit of noise, but I never heard them.. I don't know why.  The next morning, my brother told me about them.  I got excited.  I told them to fetch them immediately, bring them in.. I'll feed them, and make them one of us.  I mean, make them part of the family.

They didn't like the idea because they're all girls, and I was like "and so?!"  These kids need help.  It does seem like they're abandoned.  I can't let those kids be miserable, and lonely, and afraid, afraid of everything that moves, or worse, die of hunger, or be eaten by hungry wolves.

The first day was difficult.

It was difficult to tame them.  They were meowing nonstop, even after eating.  They were looking for their mom who's nowhere to be found.  We have no idea what happened to their mom.  We never see nor hear any "Sisa" like-voice shouting for her kids.. going mad.

manong, the bird feeder

This one was taken at the Batu Cave in Kuala Lumpur, and I'd like to admit I haven't seen these birds too many in a single spot.

There's a few drops of rain when we got there, and when I saw these birds, I already thought it wasn't the rain.  They're on every electric lines and they've decorated the ground well enough for me not to think they're not showering us.

There were no much people, but there were lot of monkeys.  That I will share next.  ;)

ANIMALTALES

what's the worst penalty for catnapping?

Yes, you heard/read that right.  I'm thinking of committing a crime for this cute but not so little kitty who's been hanging out with us and doesn't seem to be going home anymore.  He leaves every once in a while but is always present and never ever missed meal time.  But lately we noticed he's spending the night.. and on our coach he was spotted; "good morning" was how his meow sounded like when my brother saw him stretching his cute little legs and short tail and very shiny fur.  He's quite a cutie! and very sweet! and there's one thing I find similar to him and Shadow.. they both bite when you pet them too much.. or when asking for food.

I think I'm naming him Urf, which I think LOL players would get, but I don't know why I'm naming him Urf.  I just thought it's cute.. like it's something he would say when he's hungry.

gold and blue

This pretty (I don't know if a lady or a gentleman) walked slowly in my direction.. straight under the bench where I was sitting and sat like a royalty.  I noticed his/her eyes have different colors; gold and blue.  I thought it was just the sun and/or my eyes were playing tricks on me (like how some people got confused about a damn dress' color), but they were really two colors; gold and blue.

He/she got prettier in my eyes.  His/her soft, shiny, white fur which I tried to touch but he/she just won't let me added to his/her gorgeousness.. so I did my best to get his/her best angle.

rare beauty

It's very rare for me to see a butterfly this beautiful, so I immediately took my camera and took a few shots.. it's pretty hard to catch.  He's just enjoying every flowers in his sight.

he's just tiredddd

He's one of the guards of the Virgin Island in Cebu, but he's a.. or maybe it's a she (we never know) is a very lovely guard; very respectful and very welcoming.  In the middle of the day, while waiting for our food, I saw him/her lying down and crawling on the sand and like scratching his/her back with it, and then he stretched his arms and legs and stayed there.

I thought of taking a picture of his face, but I don't know if we're friends and/or he would allow.. so I chose my safety.  Besides, he's asleep, and some creatures don't like their photos being taken while sleeping.  That's just rude!

Unlike this one who posed like a pro!

animal instinct

Of all the animals that I shot, only a few of them stood out.. only those who bothered to look into my camera and show a little interest on me or whatever.  Though I can tell at some point that not all of them were eager to show off those cute smiles and tantalizing eyes but I think I managed to catch them on time.

Shadow's eyes

The crocodiles' smiles and those eyes were telling me that they're ready to jump off and play catch with me.  I was on a high place (a very safe place) so taking their pictures on the angle that I like was like a risk not to drop my camera and/or not to have my arm chopped off when they jump.  (I know.. my imagination's running wild like all the time!)

The ostrich was quite big and tall and they're really going near people and people going near them.  I was still using flash then (I know it sounds stupid to use flash outdoor in a very sunny morning), and I thought the flash of the light might irritate them and they might nibble me for good, so I took a few steps back before I took a few shots and I love how it turned out.  Those eyes and the smile are the cutest I've seen in a bird in my whole life.

That dog was barking mad when we got to our friend's house in Bataan.. and if I remember it correctly, he shut when he noticed a flash of light coming from behind him.  I don't think he was impressed.  We spent the night there so he had to be tied for our safety.

But it was Shadow's eyes that really made me do this post.  I edited his photo using Flickr's photo editing tool, and I'm so impressed.  And the rest; the shih tzu, the fish, and the goat.. they're looking clueless of what was going on.. still cute nonetheless.

Garfield

I saw the Wordless Wednesday post for today, and I thought, why not share my dear Garfield and be nostalgic for a while?  I haven't been talking about him anyway since that post.. and how much I miss him every time I see that photo of his.

That's his favorite sleepy mode pose, and I think he's always aware that his face was being taken while sleeping.. and I miss him so much!

The famous Garfield of Roma Street!  Womanizer. Wild. Wide. Warrior.

my Shadow chased again

I realized how cheesy the title was on my last post, so I thought I'll post something black, and cute, still cute, but a little stinky.  Ew you say? whateverr, he's still my baby, and he doesn't like taking a bath.  Shadow's fine now, thankfully!

He's no longer dreadful, he eats well again, and chasing everything that moves again.  He recently injured a baby lizard.  I actually tried to take a shot of him and the lizard, but he walked away.  This may sound awful and frustrated, but I tried to make him play with the lizard again so I could take some shots.  But he's the snobbiest of them all so.. I left the poor thing alone.  It lived.  I saw it on one corner trying to climb up the wall, but it failed.

Okay, let me tell you about all the things that Shadow and Garfield chased, clawed, beaten, bitten, killed, ate in their entire lives.

Normally, they kill rats, big or small.  But I don't know if they could and if they had caught and killed something that is as big as them.

We have huge rats, and sometimes Garfield go to their hiding places; in the ceiling, and the other cats also go there.. some kinda party huh?  Aside from rats, they have killed a bunch of cockroaches, lizards, just the house lizards, if they had encountered bigger lizards I don't know.  But last year some duck owners called our attention and complained about his ducklings being killed by Garfield.  He said, he saw it several times and even threatened to beat my cat if he do it again.  Well I don't think Garfield's wounds were purely from the cat fights he had.

Shadow too had wounds that I suspect were from the stupid superstitious people about black cats.  But I made them know that Shadow's mine, and I think they got it.  But I'm not saying that I don't believe the guy, I think Garfield really is capable of doing that because I saw Shadow one time in our neighbor's roof with a bird in his mouth.

my Shadow is fading, i'm afraid

November or October last year when my cat Garfield got sick, really sick.  I lost count of his and his brother Shadow's ages.  I don't know how old they are, but Garfield really looked like he's old enough.  I hated seeing him dying like that.  But I had no money to take him to the vet.. so I just made sure that he eats well.

He's the strong kind; he fought the strongest male in the neighborhood over women and territory.  He was a warrior.  He's always outside; gone for hours, days.. but when he gets home, he's the same Garfield we loved; the stubborn, bad-ass child with scratches, sometimes deep wounds from his fights.  But unlike him, Shadow, who is just days younger, is like a little gentleman.

I've seen his girlfriend, she's also pure black, and funny enough because Garfield's girl also looks exactly like him, but they don't live in our house; these girls.  Because as much as possible, we don't want anymore dynasty of cats in the family.

We've had tons and tons of cats before.  Shadow and Garfield's mom had tons of children before them.. and her mom before her, and her mom, they're countless.  It's just the first time that we were able to save the males, and they're beautiful.  So we're strict when it comes to sleepovers.. actually no sleepovers.  That will result to more sleepovers until they pee on one corner and before we know it, they've had babies.

That will be our responsibility.  They can have their babies in their own homes though.  I mean, these girls, they always know when the food has been served and these boys will let these girls finish their food.  I don't know where they reside though, but they're just a few houses away I think.  I haven't seen my grandchildren.. but they're just there, having fun.. having their training to replace their parents.
